CRC’s policy governs ground use and authorization for aerial operations to protect guests, animals, and the long-term safety of the venue.
At CRC Ranch, safety is a top priority—especially when it comes to aerial operations involving unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Due to the presence of livestock, mounted riders, guests, and nearby aviation activity, CRC maintains strict requirements governing any drone activity on or associated with the property.
If you plan to bring a drone operator for filming or photography in connection with an event or activity at CRC Ranch, the following guidelines must be followed.
1. Drone Pilot Certification
All drone operators must hold a valid FAA Remote Pilot Certificate issued under 14 CFR Part 107 (Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems). Certification must remain current for the entire duration of the operation, including setup, staging, takeoff, landing, and wrap-up. CRC does not permit recreational drone operations under any circumstances.
2. Insurance Requirements
The drone operator—or the vendor hiring the drone operator—must provide proof of insurance that includes:
CRC Ranch must be named as an Additional Insured on the policy.
3. Required Documentation
The following documents must be submitted for review and approval:
Without these documents, aerial operations will not be approved.
4. Vendor & Client Responsibility
If you are the primary vendor or client engaging a drone operator, it is your responsibility to ensure the operator:
This responsibility extends to any subcontracted vendors providing aerial services
.
5. Permission & Ground Use Restrictions
CRC Ranch does not permit drone takeoff, landing, staging, or ground operations on the property without prior written approval, regardless of pilot certification status.
This restriction applies to:
Only CRC-approved aerial operators may conduct takeoff, landing, or staging associated with CRC Ranch activities.
6. Submission of Documentation
Please email all required documentation to:

Documents should be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the event to avoid delays. Late or incomplete submissions may result in aerial operations being denied.
If there’s short notice and the drone operator can’t provide their certification before the event, we’ve got you covered. CRC can arrange for an onsite FAA-certified SUAS Pilot to supervise the flight. The onsite pilot will act as the Pilot in Command (PIC), meaning they’ll have the final say on all drone operations and can take control of the drone if needed for safety. This service is available for a fee, so please reach out to us in advance to confirm availability and pricing if you need this option.
